The Denver Office of Cultural Affairs (DOCA) is exploring the programmatic possibilities of adapting the Carnegie Library/McNichols Building, located in Civic Center Park, into a cultural Center. Over the next several weeks, DOCA is hosting three meetings to elicit public input to assist in the visioning process. The first meeting explores models of cultural centers (both public and private) from around the country. New media and digital innovations to establish a cultural center that is responsive to new forms of cultural participation are investigated at the second meeting. At the last meeting, participants will have the opportunity to put to use what they have learned at previous meetings. - Tuesday, September 11 LEARN: Model Examples of Cultural Centers - Monday, September 17 IMAGINE: Buildign a Cultural Center in the Digital Age - Tuesday, September 25 BUILD: Interactive Visioning Charrette We also invite you to share your thoughts and ideas through these Forums.

Part of the attraction of a Denver Cultural Center in the Carnegie Library/McNichols Building is the opportunity to invigorate Civic Center Park. New facilities and activities in the park could help attract citizens and restore Civic Center Park as a vibrant hub for Denver. Is a Denver Cultural Center the right fit for Civic Center Park? How do you see a Cultural Center enriching the park, or are there better alternatives for activating Civic Center Park?
