Community: Cinema Jou Jou III at the Dikeou Collection

June 7th, 6pm-midnight, the Dikeou Colleciton and TIE will host a collaborated event entitled, Cinema Jou Jou III, "An evening of cake and creative fetish," which will feature music, poetry readings, a cake walk and short screenings of experimental films. $10 at the door benefits TIE, a 501(C)3.

Music will include: Ian Cooke, Team Awesome, Mr. Pacman and Castles

Featured films will include those directed by: Tom Chomont, Lenny Lipton and Jesse Kennedy

Poetry readings will feature: Eleni Sikelianos and Andrea Rexilius

Cake walks will feature: Very pretty ice cream cakes

"Jou Jou," or French for "little toy," is emblematic for the event which is carnival themed, exploring the darker side of childhood. Although TIE (The International Experimental Cinema Exposition) specializes in exposing the best of the best in obscure independent film, the founder, Chris May is particularly active in fitting the experimental film community in the wider artistic landscape. Cinema Jou Jou III is intended to be a decadent and playful celebration of poets meeting filmmakers, filmmakers meeting harp players, harp players meeting DJs, etc...

The Dikeou Collection is located in the Colorado Building, 1615 California St., at 16th St., Suite 515, Denver, 80202.
