Denver Botanic Gardens Welcomes Synthesis
Works by Robin Schaefer
Opening July 15th and running through August 29th, 2008
There seems to be nothing stopping Robin Schaefer and her art.
Synthesis brings together a selection of Schaefer's paintings from her last several bodies of work. There seems to be no better place than the Denver Botanic Gardens for these rich and fulfilling pieces that focus you on the surfaces of fruits, vegetation, flowers and more. This signature exhibit, Urban Nature, offers an extraordinary view into Schaefer's perception of nature and the built environment around it.
Robin Schaefer is a Denver native who uses traditional oil painting techniques to execute work that is complex and alluring, exposing the luminous underbelly of detail. Her organic objects are isolated on the canvas, evoking a profound sense of imperfection and vulnerability to come through.
In 2007 Schaefer was selected for the West Edition of New American Paintings, and her work is in several prominent local collections, including First Western Trust Bank. She is represented by Plus Gallery and maintains a studio at Ironton in the River North Arts District.
Don't miss this fantastic show, not to mention one of the best gardens in this country.
