The Starz Denver Film Festival
November 13th - 23rd
The Denver Film Society's 31st Starz Denver Film Festival (SDFF), will be held between Nov. 13-23, and is going to feature nearly 175 films representing the work of filmmakers from all corners of the globe. More than 150 film artists will be in attendance to introduce their works to film enthusiastics. Last year, which also marked their 30th anniversary, the SDFF had over 45 thousand attendees which was a 16% increase from 2006. Let's make this year even bigger!
It seems the festival always seems to sneak up on us every year, but now is a good time to get ahead of schedule, read-up and prepare to be around for one of Denver's biggest events of the year.
Festival packages are currently on sale and are the best way to approach participating in the festival giving you access to the shows and parties. You can purchase packages directly at the festival headquarters at the Tivoli Center on the Auroria campus downtown, for more information on this location and packages visit: www.denverfilm.org
"The films we are looking at for the 31st Starz Denver Film Festival represent the best and brightest that independent and world cinema have to offer," said Britta Erickson, SDFF director. "The combination of outstanding films and high profile special events is a hallmark of what has become one of the nation's best and most respected regional Film Festivals."
The Festival will spotlight industry leaders participating in panels and seminars covering diverse cinematic topics. Red carpet and other special events round out the 11-day Festival.
All regular screenings will take place at the Starz FilmCenter at the Tivoli on the Auraria Campus, the home for the Denver Film Society. Opening Night (Nov. 13) and Big Night (Nov. 15) events will take place at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and Closing Night (Nov. 22) will be held at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre. Both venues are located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Special screenings will be shown in the King Academic and Performing Arts Center on the Auraria Campus.
Starz is here. "It entertains. It educates. It provokes and persuades, moves and motivates. The cinema’s potential to transform as well as reflect society in all its diversity is what the Denver Film Society aims to recognize and realize."

Volunteering is fun, here is a great chance to help out!
Throughout the 11 days of SDFF, there are more than 400 volunteer opportunities available, giving people the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of exciting and fun activities, as well as seeing what happens behind the scenes at one of the world's premiere film festivals. People interested in volunteering must attend one orientation meeting, which will be held at the Starz FilmCenter six times before the start of the Festival. For more information about volunteering, visit http://www.denverfilm.org/participate/volunteer/, or contact Will Dupree, Volunteer Coordinator, at volunteer@denverfilm.org or 303-595-3456 x223.
